MY JOURNEY AND SUCCESSES
I have taken the long path, through a master's degree in finance at the Stockholm School of Economics from 1990 to 1994, as well as nearly 30 years as an analyst, investor, and asset manager, primarily within IT and banking.
The first six years as an IT analyst were marked by a tech boom of unprecedented scale, which was followed by a corresponding deep crash.
After that, banks were lifted by a housing bubble inflated by central banks from 2003 to 2007, before the resulting crash in the financial sector almost took down the entire global economy and the modern financial system.
And then it started again with both IT and banks from 2009 to 2014, battling to lead the stock market to new heights. I guess you could say that the FANG stocks won in the end, meaning tech-driven social advertising platforms and entertainment. Regardless of which bubble we’re talking about, it was in my sectors where most of the action happened.
In the Finance course, I summarize and convey, as practically as possible my lessons and insights from my investment experiences between 1985* and 2015 – and soon onward to 2025.
* I inherited my first shares in 1985, and I began trading seriously in 1992 while I was in the middle of my studies at the Stockholm School of Economics. In 1994, I became an analyst at Skandinavien Fondkommission, and in 1996, Swedbank Markets presented me with an offer I couldn’t resist. Suddenly, I was responsible for building the analysis of IT companies at Sweden’s largest bank.
